2017 April 11, Tuesday 19:00
Naregatsi Art Institute hosted a concert featuring the Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble, Artistic Director, RA Honored Worker of Culture Hovik Sahakyan.
Priest Father Smbat Sargsyan, the pastor of Kotayk Diocese Arinj village St. Mary and St. Hovahannes Churches opened the event presenting the message of Holy Tuesday.
-Ten Vergins are commemorated on Holy Tuesday.
“The Parable of the Ten Virgins” from the Gospel, tells the story about the five foolish and the five wise virgins. The message exhorts us to be vigilant and prepared for the Coming of Our Lord Jesus Christ.
That wisdom teaches us that there are things that cannot be done at the last moment. It is impossible to prepare for the exam when the exam has already begun. Similarly, it is not possible to be ready for the coming of the Lord, when we have lived all our life in idleness and carelessness.
There are things that you cannot borrow, as the foolish virgins were not able to borrow oil, when they needed it so much. Similarly, it is impossible to build a relationship with God based on the experiences of other people. We must go toward the Lord with our experience. The relationship with God is our personal struggle and work; it is impossible to get a loan, doing nothing, - the pastor wrapped up his message on Holy Tuesday, mentioning that each day of this week has its parabolic meaning and Christians should know about it.
Then the audience enjoyed the unique Armenian folk melodies performed by the Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble.
