Yeghegan Pogh Competition-Festival

On the initiative of Naregatsi Art Institute and Helbert Asatryan, the Artistic Director of the Yeghegan Pogh Pan-Armenian Competition-Festival of Shvi and Pipe players, the great prize winner of the festival got a unique opportunity to play the pipe belonging to Komitas Vardapet at Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art.

Naregatsi Art Institute Artistic Advisor Daniel Yerazhisht welcomed this exceptional reality, when a young musician is given the opportunity to play the pipe belonging to great Komitas.

Nareg Hartounian, the founder of Naregatsi Art Institute, said that after listening to the music performed by Komitas Vardapet’s pipe, one feels that faith in God increases when the "ambassadors" of the Armenian people play. He expressed his deep gratitude to the management of Yeghishe Charents Museum of Literature and Art for this unique opportunity.

The Nova Folk Instruments Ensemble also performed during the event.
Helbert Asatryan, the Artistic Director of the Yeghegan Pogh Pan-Armenian Competition-Festival of Shvi and Pipe players handed a shvi to a young man from the audience hoping to reawaken love towards the instrument and train a new shvi player.

This year the festival was held in 2 rounds. The first round was held in all marzes of the Republic of Armenia (10.06.2023-19.06.2023), the second round took place in Yerevan (20.06.2023-25.06.2023).

The start of the Yeghegan Pogh Pan-Armenian Competition-Festival was given in 2021 and this year the 2nd Yeghegan Pogh Pan-Armenian Competition-Festival was organized for shvi and pipe players.
