Օn May 21st, the Nova Folk Instrument Ensemble (Artistic Director and Conductor: Helbert Asatryan) had the solo concert entitled “Dedication to Khachatur Avetisyan” in the crowded hall of the Komitas Chamber Music Hall.
The works of Khachatur Avetisyan were performed throughout the evening.
The Komitas Choir of the Yerevan State Conservatory after Komitas (Conductor: Gayane Sahakyan), the RA People's Artist, YSC Professor, duduk player Gevorg Dabaghyan, the RA Honored Artist Karine Hovhannisyan, Mavr Mkrtchyan (tenor), Hasmik Baghdasaryan (soprano) took part in the concert.
At the end of the concert, Khachatur Avetisyan's Oratorio was performed. It occupies a special place in his creative activity and consists of 7 parts for soloists, choir and orchestra.
The poetic series underlying the oratorio belongs to the pen of the contemporary Armenian poet Ludwig Duryan. It is dedicated to the memory of the victims of the Armenian Genocide of 1915.
The concert ended with thunderous ovations and unceasing applause from the audience.
